A vintage knife from the late 80s, this Japanese carbon knife is restored and ready for a new life. Today, Kikuhamon produces bonsai scissors, and has unfortunately stopped producing knives.
Made from Japanese carbon steel, though not as pure as the known ‘blue paper’ or ‘white paper’ alloys, it will hold an edge for a long time. Japanese carbon steel is also easy to resharpen.
Because the old handle was broken, it’s replaced with a new custom walnut handle with brass pins. The blade is polished and the edge is sharpened using whetstones.
Note: the tang of this knife is not symmetrical to the blade.
